The Brighton Pier Group

Designing the company’s first TCFD report

Brighton Pier Group owns and operates Brighton Palace Pier, as well as bars and theme parks nationwide. The group needed to produce its first Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures report, a legally required disclosure outlining climate-related financial risks.

Although the content followed a strict framework, the company wanted the report to be more than just a compliance exercise. It would be read by investors, shareholders, staff, and the wider public, so it had to look professional, accessible, and in keeping with their annual reporting.

I was responsible for the design and layout of the printed and PDF versions. With no existing brand identity or style guide to draw on, I created a fresh visual approach that combined clear, structured tables and charts with bold imagery, colour, and typography. The aim was to reflect the group’s identity as an entertainment and hospitality business, while ensuring the data-heavy content remained easy to follow.

The finished report was well received by both the client and its audience. I’m happy to say that several months later, the finance team returned to ask me to create an investor presentation in the same bold and colourful style.
